Uber is making it easier for voters to get to the polls with enhanced features designed for Election Day. The home screen of the Uber app will display a prominent ‘Go Vote!’ tile. When users tap this tile, they will find several helpful options:

  • Locate Your Polling Place: The app allows users to enter their home address to find their nearest polling station and book a ride directly there.
  • Discounted Rides: Riders in the U.S. will receive 50% off rides to their polling places, with savings of up to $10.
  • Election Night Promotions: As election results start, users can take advantage of 25% off Uber Eats orders after 6 p.m., with a maximum discount of $15 on orders that meet a minimum of $25.

To further celebrate and encourage voting, UberX cars will feature an American flag wrap, serving as a visual reminder and a celebration of civic duty.

Lyft’s Voting Access Program

Lyft is also committed to facilitating voter turnout through its LyftUp Voting Access Program. This initiative offers a 50% discount, up to $10 off, on rideshares, bikes, and scooters to the polls. Lyft’s Chief Policy Officer, Jerry Golden, highlighted that the program’s goal is to ensure transportation isn’t a barrier to voting. Since 2014, Lyft has helped approximately three million voters reach polling places, reinforcing its dedication to accessible voting.
