Hacks For Cleaning Your Home With Vinegar

Buying different cleaning products for every room in your house can get expensive and take up a ton of space in your cabinet. However, there’s one substance that you can use to clean things all over your house; vinegar! Vinegar is a powerful and versatile cleaning agent which can be used to remove tough stains and grime from many surfaces in your home. Vinegar is also an effective sanitizer that kills bacteria, mold, fungi, and viruses on contact without harmful toxins or chemicals. This article will give you some great hacks for cleaning your home with vinegar!

Clean Your Toilet

To clean your toilets with vinegar, pour some into your bathroom bowl. Let it sit for 20 minutes before flushing to break down dirt and grime. Let the vinegar sit in your toilet overnight before scrubbing with a brush for tougher stains. Then just flush once you’ve given it a good scrub! To make your toilet shine like new, combine ½ cup of vinegar with ¼ cup of baking soda and clean the inside of your bathroom with a brush.

Clean Your Countertops

Vinegar works great as an all-purpose kitchen cleaner that can be used on any type or color of the countertop. Combine ½ cup vinegar with 2 cups water in a spray bottle. Spray on any countertop and wipe with a clean cloth, washing away dirt and grime. For tough stains, let the solution sit for 10 minutes. After letting the vinegar sit on your counters for 10 minutes, rinse with water and dry with a clean towel to reveal a clean surface!

Wash Windows

Vinegar can be used to wash windows and any other glass surfaces in your home. Place 1 part vinegar and two parts water in a spray bottle and mix well. Spray the solution onto windows and other glass surfaces, and then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth or newspaper for streak-free results. The vinegar’s natural acidity will help break down grime and leave your windows shining.

Clean Tiles

Vinyl, ceramic, and porcelain tiles cannot be cleaned with just any cleaner. But you can use vinegar to remove tough dirt and grime from your tile floors or walls. Pour ½ cup vinegar into a spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Spray on tiles or mop over them for a deep clean that kills germs and takes care of tough stains. Finish off your tiles by buffing with a dry microfiber cloth for an extra-clean shine.

Clean Washing Machine

If the inside of your washing machine is looking a little dirty or getting stinky, wash it with vinegar! Combine ½ cup white distilled vinegar with ¼ cup baking soda and ¼ cup borax. Pour the mixture into your washing machine and wash a regular load of laundry to clean away dirt and grime. For serious cleaning, add the vinegar-baking soda mixture directly to your washer’s drum before you start a load of laundry. Rinse with hot water and dry before putting the filter back into place. Then just get rid of any excess water that may be left in your machine and pull out the filter to inspect it properly.
